This is exactly the type of wine we need more of from France, an authentic wine with generosity that doesn't resort to confection and trickery. It's a syrah-grenache blend with deep colour, a generous nose of black and red fruit, spice and just a touch of tar and smoke. It's medium to full bodied, fairly dense and firm without being austere.
